RECREATE wishes everyone a Happy 4th of July!  we wanted to introduce our country’s history and design of our Great Seal of the United States.

On July 4, 1776, the same day that independence from Great Britain was declared by the thirteen states,  Congress named the first committee to design a Great Seal, or national emblem, for the country.

It took 6 years, 3 committees, and the contributions of 14 men before the Congress finally accepted a design (which included elements proposed by each of the three committees) in 1782.

This turns out to be the 1st documented official graphic development and design in our country’s history! Giving the United States our 1st emblem to represent our country on official documents, treaties, etc.

Below we have introduced those elements from the creative process, as well as provided our “ INDEPENDENT by CHOICE“, a creative wallpaper using the artwork below! Happy 4th of July and enjoy some graphic history of the United States!
